Embassy Theater Series: The Enthusiasts / Rajongók

Leírás

Join us for the fourth play of our Embassy Theater Series!

On September 19 from 7 p.m., we will be screening Robert Musil's play from 1921, The Enthusiasts, in the direction of János Szikora. Professionally recorded show of the Vörösmarty Theater of Székesfehérvár will be screened in Hungarian with English subtitles.

The play takes place in the villa of a well-off bourgeois family. The main characters are two married couples, where the women are sisters. The endless chain of Bergman-like situations and the grotesque attitude of characters who are unable to intellectually process the mystery of psychic life are a fascinating experience for both the actor and the viewer. What happens to the couples? Like in many of Musil's work, it's on the viewer to figure it out.

The costumes are dreamed up by the master of sophisticated sensual materials, Kati Zoób and her fashion house.

The event is free of charge, but to secure your seat, please click on 'going' or send us an email to RSVP.was@mfa.gov.hu with your name and number of guests. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the screening starts at 7 p.m. sharp.

Plenty of free street parking is available on Spring of Freedom Street and in the Rock Creek Park Grove #1's lot.

Upon arrival, please use the Embassy's reception entrance located at 2950 Spring of Freedom St. NW, Washington D.C.
