Palma Kaposi Represents Hungary at the World University Games

Palma Kaposi, returning University of Minnesota basketball junior and native of Pécs, Hungary, will be wearing red, white and green instead of maroon and gold this week. Palma is representing her home country of Hungary at the World University Games, or Universiade, in Taipei between August 19-30, 2017.

Kaposi and Team Hungary played their first game against Sweden on Monday, August 21. Hungary is scheduled to play two more preliminary games before bracket play begins.

Kaposi’s Schedule 
Aug. 21 Hungary vs. Sweden, 17:30 Taipei time (4:30 a.m. CT)
Aug. 22 Hungary vs. China, 17:30 (4:30 a.m. CT)
Aug. 23 Hungary vs. Taipei, 20:00 (7 a.m. CT)
Aug. 25 Bracket play starts 

Kaposi has played for Hungary’s national team before, including in the U16, U18 and U20 European Championships. She helped clinch the U18 B Division title in 2014 with some free throws late in the game.

The Universiade is an international multi-sport event organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation, which takes place every two years in a different city.
